地方独立行政法人青森県産業技術センターりんご研究所の研究施設が老朽化に伴い新研究所を改築するにあたり設計者を選定するためのプロポーザル。
私たちは、りんご研究所が有すべき「専門性」「シンボル性」「地域性」を建築の様々な側面（意匠・構造・設備・維持管理など）で統合することを目指し、遠景の岩木山への眺望軸を配置計画のベースに据えながら、外壁や屋根にりんごの様々な様態を表現する建築構成とし、具象性と抽象性のバランスをたもちながら研究者、観光客に将来にわたって愛される建築の姿を提案した。

This was a design proposal to select an architect for the reconstruction of the new facility for the Aomori Prefectural Industrial Technology Research Center, Apple Research Institute (a local independent administrative agency), necessitated by the aging of its existing research facilities.
Aiming to integrate the "expertise," "symbolic nature," and "locality" required of the Apple Research Institute into various aspects of the architecture—including design, structure, systems, and maintenance—we based our layout plan on the vista axis toward the distant Mount Iwaki. The architectural composition expresses the various forms and characteristics of apples through its exterior walls and roof. Striking a balance between the concrete and the abstract, we proposed a design that will be cherished by both researchers and tourists for generations to come.
